1. How are you working to de-stigmatizing mental health within your community?

Through Redefining Our Womanhood, my hope is for Black womxn and other underserved groups of people to find the space as a safe community where they can share their experience and resources with each other. I think de-stigmatizing mental health amongst the Black community is dismantling the shame aspect of it. The shame is eradicated through vulnerability, and sharing with one another.

2. What fuels your passion to share beauty with the world?

Art is one of my greatest loves. I’m observant and reserved, and art has always been a way to be in tune with myself and communicate from a very young age. Curation, producing; even creating experiential events has been a way for me to express myself and evoke emotions out of people in way I would not be able to otherwise.

3. What is one mechanism you use to fight imposter syndrome?

I honestly don’t experience imposter syndrome. I think that’s because I don’t chase perfection or feel the need to have everything figured out. I focus on remaining open to learning and to receiving what is meant for me.

4. What are your self-care rituals?

My favorite self-care rituals involve rest and play. I find time for relaxation, stillness, laughter and communion into my life daily.

5. What do you want your legacy to be?

I want to be remembered for how well I loved, and how no gift of mine was left hidden. From just looking at my life and my work, I want others to know they can do anything too.
